So goodbye to October and hello November! I always find November to be the month where all the signs of autumn have disappeared and we slide quickly into winter. It’s the month when I start semi-hibernation - making plans for Christmas, taking advantage of the dark evenings to curl up on the sofa with a good book, and when a lovely cup of hot chocolate becomes a Sunday evening staple. It’s a month for cosying up in a blanket, for staying in, for drawing the blinds and lighting candles.   Things that have made me happy this week:   I placed our Christmas food order this week! This will be the first year that we host Christmas – we’re having my parents round and ...

Introducing Paddy’s Bathroom - baby bathtime fun!

Because of my eczema issues and allergies to most shampoos and shower gels, I’ve found it problematic in finding a suitable bathtime range to use with Max. So I was thrilled to see that the people who came up with Ella’s Kitchen have created a bath range with the same ethos as their food – a natural organic range, free from nasties and fun for kids. Last week seems like it's gone by in a flash! The evenings drawing in really make the days seem like they're disappearing rapidly. It was my Dad's birthday, so we had a lovely family meal (low key and child friendly!), and it was lovely to see Max and my nephew being so well behaved at dinner. Other little highlights of last week: The lonely lupin in the picture above that clearly missed the memo that autumn is well and truly here! I've never known lupins like these - I've hesitated to cut them down as they're still looking nice and green and low and behold this little guy pops up from beneath the leaves. It's practically November Mr Lupin! Going for an early morning run ...
