A big welcome to our 12th week of #SharingtheBlogLove and our weekly Blogger Showcase!
If you’re new to #SharingtheBlogLove, these are our favourite posts from last week’s linky. We love that each week we can choose a few favourites for you all to read, comment and show a bit of extra love!
Little Hearts Big Love
I think most of us who have been with our partners for more than a few years are guilty of taking them for granted. I guess it’s an inevitable part of marriage really and I know that I can often look past all of the good things that my husband does and see only the things that he hasn’t done. I loved this reflection from Louise, Sometimes I Look at You - a beautifully written and honest account of marriage and family life. It left me feeling so much more appreciative of my wonderful husband, and thinking that it’s so important to take time out to really see the person - it’s so easy to look past those little things when you see someone day in and day out.
Emma Plus Three
I always love Emma’s blog posts and her trip to the Tropical Butterfly House in Sheffield looked brilliant! I love the little guinea pig houses and the playground looks epic! Not just a butterfly house, but so much more, with meerkats, terrapins, otters, a farm, and even dinosaurs (don’t worry, they’re not real!) I’m really keen to keep up the family days out that we’ve enjoyed over the summer, so I’m keen to see if there is somewhere like this down in the South - can you recommend anywhere?
Little Paper Swans
I’m a huge sucker for a wedding post (guilty secret - despite my wedding being over 5 years ago, I still check into Rock My Wedding occasionally for a glimpse of all the prettiness!), and I loved Cathryn’s wedding post focusing on the details - the flowers, the food, and those little touches that make a wedding so personal. I love the relaxed feel that a barn wedding always has, and the jam jars of flowers is such a simple but beautiful way of decorating a venue. I adore Cathryn’s bouquet too - well done to her florist for sourcing peonies in February, what a star!
Little Mummy Running
The return to work at the end of maternity leave is such a huge moment for all working mums. I don’t think there’s a mum out there who has found it smooth sailing - I know I struggled the whole concept of walking away and leaving my little baby at nursery. I loved Louise’s post, There’s Half a Plastic Chicken in my Designer Handbag, one which I think every working mum will be able to relate to - I’m always digging out random toys from my handbag (although sadly my own designer number is stored in the wardrobe, waiting for the day it won’t be subjected to sticky fingers rifling through it!). Louise’s post is so well written, and just perfectly sums up all those feelings you go through when it comes to returning to work. I think that whether you’re a working mum or a stay-at-home-mum, you feel a certain level of guilt about your choice, and that’s something that we all relate to.
Did you catch any of these last week? If not, please head over and give them a read and a comment!
