Me and Mine - A Family Portrait in February

I can't believe how quickly February has flown by - it seems like only last week I posted January's Me and Mine photos! Despite flying by, February has felt like a tough month for us as a family. John has been away with work for the end of the month and I struggle with that normally, but being pregnant on top of it is definitely hard. I've been struggling with sickness and tiredness, and our weekends have been filled with meeting up with various people, leaving little time for relaxation. This month's photos were taken on a walk around the common near where we live. It was a pretty muddy walk but a gorgeous sunny day and we had a good time ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran We've had a pretty quiet week this week, but we did manage to get outside for a walk. It was pretty muddy though, so we turned it into a Bear Hunt! Through the mud we went, squealch squealch, through the forest, stumble trip stumble trip, through the river (although we did go round that one!). Max loved it and the little grin on his face and screams of excitement were fantastic!

The Pregnancy Diaries: Week 24

24 weeks pregnant now and the second trimester has definitely picked up speed. Not too many more weeks and I'll be into the third trimester and then it's all downhill from there!   What's going on with the baby I find 24 weeks a real milestone as it's the marker for when medical professionals consider your baby to be viable - that they might have a chance of surviving if they were born early, even if that chance is small. I remember this so clearly with Max as I was so concerned about him coming early and it felt like every week up to 30 weeks was a huge milestone to reach. At 24 weeks pregnant the baby is the size of an ear ...

A big welcome back to #SharingtheBlogLove! Thank you so much to everyone who joined last week - it was lovely to see so many of our new linkers over the last few weeks returning. Laura and I always get such great feedback from people who love joining, it really does make it such a lovely linky to run. I hope you had a lovely half term last week, or if it's this week for you, I hope you're enjoying it / getting through it! It's been a bit of a slog so far for me - I've been plagued by a migraine for the start of the week which has meant a lack of activity on the blogging front, but I'm always ...

It's always lovely to take a look at our featured posts this week and see how many extra comments they've had from you guys!   Mudpie Fridays I always love Clare's sensory play ideas and these little DIY sensory pat bags are so cute! Aside from some laminating pouches, it's all stuff you'll have lying around at home so no big outlay, and they sound lovely and straightforward to make. Max was never ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran   Max has always loved dogs, although he's been a bit wary of larger dogs, and especially dogs that lick him, until lately. It was lovely to see him with our in-law's dog at the weekend - he's really warmed up to her and is much more confident around her all of a sudden. We went for a walk and Max just loved throwing her ball for her and watching her chase after it (although his throwing could use some work - most of the time she managed to catch it straight from his throw). I think this photo mid-throw just captures his excitement perfectly, and ...

23 weeks pregnant now and it wasn't a blip that I felt a bit better last week, it's carried on this week too! I'm so hoping to have seen the back of the pregnancy sickness.   What's going on with the baby The baby is now the size of a large mango and measures around 29cm from heel to crown. They'll look like a tiny newborn at this stage, just a lot skinnier. Their lungs are developing more and more, ready to practice breathing, and they are becoming more sensitive to sounds from the outside world.   What's going on with me   The movement has definitely been increasing and I've been noticing that he's definitely awake first thing in the morning, lunchtime, and most of the evening. But ...

Step into spring with Origins GinZing & Original Skin

There's something about spring being in the air that makes me want to refresh my skincare routine - the sunshine, the sight of the flowers popping up, first the snowdrops and then the daffodils, all make me crave products which are lighter and refreshing. Origins' GinZing and Original Skin ranges provide the perfect solution for me - I love their refreshing citrus scent, but they still have enough moisturising power to soothe my skin. Knowing my love of the GinZing moisturiser, I bought this box set in the January sales - a complete bargain as it contained the Original Skin Renewal Serum, Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay, GinZing moisturiser, and GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser, all for £30! These products have been ...
