Baby Shower Gift Ideas

The trend for baby showers has really caught on in recent years and I think it’s a lovely way to celebrate the huge change in a woman’s life as she becomes a mum. Pregnancy can be a tough slog, and it’s often left me feeling quite isolated from my friends and family, so a baby shower is a lovely way to join them in a bit of a party. I think often we forget that our closest friends are often just as excited as we are to celebrate.

So often it can be difficult to know what to buy as a gift, so I’ve put together a list of baby shower gifts to give you some inspiration!

Personalised Gifts

Arty Apple Personalised Baby Shower Gifts

I think a touch of personalisation goes such a long way with a gift. I love Arty Apple‘s range of personalised baby shower gifts, from blankets, to comforters, to hooded towels, there’s a lovely range of affordable items. If you know the sex of the baby, go with the traditional blue or pink. You don’t have to know what name has been chosen for the baby either. We were kindly sent this adorable blue personalised taggie blanket, which I asked to be embroidered with Little Brother, rather than committing to a name just yet. How cute is the dinosaur print on the reverse side? Every gift from Arty Apple is beautifully packaged and comes presented in a lovely embossed gift box, making it a wonderful baby shower gift.

A bit of pampering

Neals Yard Mother Organic Gift Box

When you’re pregnant and feeling huge / achy / moody (delete as applicable!), nothing beats a bit of pampering. I love this set from Neals Yard, which includes their Mother’s Balm (to help prevent stretchmarks), Mother’s Bath Oil, and Mother’s Massage Oil. I’ve been enjoying all three products lately – I love the scent which is lovely and natural, as artificial scents don’t seem to be agreeing with me during pregnancy.

Midwife in a Bag Kit

I also love this Midwife in a Bag gift set, which includes essential oils to combat breastfeeding difficulties, a facial spritz (great for use in labour!), Pure Bliss Perineal Care (to promote natural healing of any stitches, tears, haemorrhoids, and c-section wounds), and Pure Bliss Perineal Massage Oil.

Gift sets

Little White Company Little Cloud Gift Bag

I think The Little White Company get their baby range spot on. It’s luxurious, gender neutral, and just all-round lovely. Their Little Cloud Gift bag contains a beautiful cloud print bodysuit and hat, cotton blanket and booties, all packaged in a cloud print gift bag. An ideal gender neutral gift if the mum-to-be has decided not to find out. I can’t imagine anyone opening this and not cooing over how beautiful it all is!

Little Maldod Mama Bag Gift Set

I love Little Maldod – an online shop run by mum of two Lowri Harris, which has some lovely gift box selections which include items for both baby and mum. This ‘Mama Bag Gift Set’ includes the fabulous Mama bag (perfect as a washbag or to store those everyday baby changing items), a gorgeous teething necklace from Blossom & Bear, a Sophie La Giraffe teething toy, a super-sized muslin, and a Super Mama mini print, because who doesn’t love to be told they’re doing a great job?

Coffee shop gift card

Two lattes in glasses laid out on table

I know when Max was little I loved to head to our local Costa for a trip out of the house, a much needed coffee for me and a feed for Max. Why not buy a gift card for the mum-to-be’s favourite coffee shop so that she can head out and enjoy a latte guilt free?

IOU tokens

Sometimes you just want to know that your friends have your back. Being a new mum is a tough time and it’s so difficult to ask for help, even when you desperately want it. I love the idea of making a book of handmade ‘tokens’ for little things like ’emergency pop round for cup of tea’, ‘girls night out’, or ‘babysitting while you have a bath’. Just knowing that your friends are on hand for those little things can be a huge reassurance.

Did you have a baby shower? I’d love to know any particularly unique or touching baby shower gifts you received.

Disclosure: Some of these items were sent to me in return for inclusion in this post. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own and I guarantee to only recommend items I truly love!

I loved both my baby showers, it was a chance to spend time with people I cared about before I went into the baby bubble. These are lovely ideas, I would have loved to receive them. The coffee voucher is a brilliant idea! I loved a pack of stickers I got with 1-12 months on and I took a picture of Holly on the 24th of each month for a year. It was a bit of a mission at the time, but now looking back at them I love them so much x

I’m slightly gutted I missed out on the baby showers – they weren’t really a big thing when I had my three. I do remember my office making a fuss over me when I left for maternity leave first time round (2006) – they got me a baby bjorn carrier and I was so touched. These gifts are all fab.
