A big welcome to our 18th week of #SharingtheBlogLove and our weekly Blogger Showcase! If you're new to #SharingtheBlogLove, these are mine and Laura's favourite posts from last week's linky. I loved reading all your posts last week - it was another week with a great variety of posts to choose from and it really is a pleasure to be able to share the blog love each week by choosing our favourites.   The Butterfly Mother Did you catch Sam Faiers in The Mummy Diaries last week? I missed it, but it provided some thought provoking reading from Laura at The Butterfly Mother with her post, Honest Mums vs. Perfect Mums. I think like most mums, I was definitely guilty of having an image in my ...

Living Arrows 43/52

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran   After a week being cooped up ill, we ventured out yesterday to blow off the cobwebs. I love this one of Max in the hazy autumn light. He's obsessed with pockets in his clothes at the moment, and loves to stuff them with little stones that he's picked up - I love that chuffed look on his face here!

5 Happy Things #25

It's been a bit of a rubbish couple of weeks over here lately - first Max was ill, then I was ill, then Max was ill again, while I was still ill - and I'm still not well now! I felt that this week would be scraping the barrel a bit to find 5 Happy Things, but after a bit of thought I did manage to come up with some!   01. I took Max for his second meningitis B jab at Boots last week and I have to admit that I was dreading it. We had to travel to a large Boots that we've never been to before, apart from meningitis jab 1, so I was convinced that he would recognise ...

A big welcome to our 17th week of #SharingtheBlogLove and our weekly Blogger Showcase! If you're new to #SharingtheBlogLove, these are mine and Laura's favourite posts from last week's linky. It was another great week last week - lots of new linkers joining us, and so many great posts for us to choose from.   A Cup Full of Glitter When I think back to my childhood, it's the little things that I remember the most. When my dad pitched the tent in the garden outside and we slept in there for the night. Or how my mum would try to create activities around every seasonal event. So I loved Carly's post, A Halloween Movie Night in a Basket - it's such a simple idea, but ...

Smith & Cult Nail Varnish - no nasties!

When you're an eczema sufferer, wearing nail varnish can be problematic. Lots of nail varnishes contain various chemicals, often including formaldehyde, that can be triggers for eczema. It was one of the first things I cut out when trying to tackle my eczema, and despite my eczema being far more under control these days, I still like to be careful about what I put on my nails. So I was thrilled to discover Smith & Cult - a luxury nail varnish brand, whose formula doesn't contain any of the usual chemicals: Dibutyl, Phthalate, Toluene, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin and Camphor. A perfect nail varnish for eczema sufferers! I have to admit that the packaging caught my eye - the chunky bottle looks just fab ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran   We seem to have had a week of illness last week - first Max and then me - so we've not managed to get out much. So this week's Living Arrows shot is a bit of a cheat and happened just before last week when we met up with Laura and her daughter Holly at Wellington Country Park. Max and Holly loved the dinosaurs and doing their dinosaur impressions together!

Pumpkin Picking at Garsons Farm

I've always wanted to go pumpkin picking, but the pumpkin patch has never seemed to be as widespread a thing here as in the US, probably due to our earlier ground frosts. But when I heard about Garsons Farm, a Pick Your Own farm in Esher, Surrey, I was really keen to get down there to choose our own perfect pumpkin. We hyped it up for Max, telling him the whole way about how we were going to pick our own pumpkin, and when we got out of the car he was really excited! It's a long drive up to the fields which adds to the excitement, and then you just pull up at the field with the crops you want to ...

A big welcome to week 15 of #SharingtheBlogLove! I love running this linky with my lovely friend Laura at Dear Bear and Beany, and once again we were so pleased that so many of you joined us last week - we had so many fab posts last week that it was really difficult to choose our favourites. One thing I did notice last week in commenting was that a number of people had not commented on the post before theirs. Please don't link and run - this is the fairest way to ensure that every post that links up gets a good amount of comments. Please please make sure you do this as a bare minimum. It's been a bit of a rubbish ...
