Happy Valentine’s Day! Do you celebrate it? We don’t normally but little bit of tat appeals to me so I bought these two cute biscuits on a recent supermarket trip!
It really feels like spring is in the air this week which gives me a massive smile on my face! Not to say that it’s not flipping freezing too, but the fact that the sun is out, the evenings are lighter, and the flowers are starting to blossom makes it so much easier to see the good things in life!
- I’ve rediscovered the joy of a lovely hot bath! We didn’t have a bath in our last house so I got out of the habit and only really took baths in hotels (why is it the moment you get into a hotel room you’re desperate to soak in the tub?). But lately I’ve been really enjoying a bath a the weekends - I like them so hot that you come out all lobster red, and bubbles and candles are a must. And a nice glass of wine is the cherry on top! I love the time to myself, the ability to switch off, and the fact that you just step out feeling like you can take on the world!
- I picked up Max from nursery this week and his key worker told me the cutest story about him - at nursery each child has their own beaker with their photo attached, and at lunchtime, Max loves to get each beaker and give it to the right child when they sit down! My heart is breaking!
- It’s been a really good couple of months blog-wise and I feel in a good place with it at the moment. I’m managing to grow my social media following quite nicely, traffic is building slowly, people are commenting, and I even had a post shared by Mumsnet last month (my Thoughts on Body Image). Thank you to all my lovely readers reading this post and any others!
- We’ve started taking Max swimming again. We did WaterBabies with him for two terms, but stopped after that as it wasn’t working particularly well with our weekends, and Max didn’t really seem to be a great fan of it. But our local pool seems to be really well geared up for Max - a really large shallow area, rapids, and a wave machine, all of which he loves!
- I’ve ordered the raised beds for the garden and planted loads of seeds in seed trays. We’re attempting leeks, onions, strawberries, and maybe courgettes too. I’m really looking forward to seeing what we can grow ourselves this year!
What’s been making you happy lately? Are there signs of spring where you are?
