Thank you so much for being a part of it, whether you've been with us since the start, or you're just joining us for the first time this week. We've had a wonderful week! We held a little party last week for Max with Disney and it was lovely to have Laura and her little girl, Holly, over to party with us. You can check out my full post here for all the photos - we had a great time! And this week we've been off down to Cornwall for a late season holiday - I love Cornwall in September, when the weather is still (mostly) ...

To Infinity and Beyond! A Toy Story Party with The Disney Store

Max's birthday was back in April and I thought I'd escaped throwing him a party. The thought of a bunch of 3 year olds running riot when I was 6 months pregnant just wasn't appealing, and as Max didn't seem to be bothered, we decided that we'd make his party next year really special instead. But just a month after his birthday he started asking us to have a party - and suddenly he seemed to have cottoned on to everything that happens at a party, despite only having been to one in his life. "Max have party... my friends come... have cake... play games?" I was starting to feel all the guilt! So when The Disney Store got in touch ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran   We missed out on throwing Max a birthday party when he turned 3 back in April, but last week we had a little party with his cousins and we invited my blogger friends Laura (Dear Bear and Beany) and Gemma (Life is Knutts) and their lovely children. The kids all had such a fun time together, and I absolutely love this photo of Max after he'd eaten one of Gemma's yummy blue cupcakes - he thought it was hilarious! I'll be sharing the full blog post about the party tomorrow, but I love this little taster!

Fear-Free Feeds with the Milk Monster

If you've read my post on Life Lately from last week, you'll know that I'm really struggling with the tiredness at the moment. Although I'm mainly breastfeeding, the one thing that we regularly do to try to allow me to get a tiny bit more sleep, is for John to do the first night feed when Ben wakes up. But that first wake up can vary hugely - sometimes he'll wake as early as 9.30, but it can be as late as 1am. And because John prefers to take the milk up when we go to bed, rather than when Ben wakes, it can be difficult to remember whether you made it within the 'safe' time limit of 2 hours ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran   I always think that the thing that being a parent has taught me more than anything else is discovering the joy in the little things. We had a trip to Nymans on the way down to Brighton last week and Max was overjoyed at discovering a little piece of Christmas tree on the ground. It really is the little things sometimes!

Life lately…

We're through the newborn haze now. We've passed the 12 week mark, and we've definitely settled into life as a family of four. And yet you may have noticed, the blogging has taken a bit of a back seat. Sure, I've posted a few days out, and some reviews, but those are the easy posts, the ones that write themselves. And there's a simple reason for that. I'm tired. I'm so tired. And that's boring to read about - you don't fully understand the tiredness unless you're living it, and even then, it's boring. But the tiredness gives you that fogginess to your thought process; the feeling that you're wading through treacle; that feeling of blankness when you come to put pen to paper ...
