5 Happy Things #20

Just when we thought the summer was over, here comes the sun again to give us another chance at all those things we didn't get round to doing! We have a lovely weekend planned - we're heading to Legoland today to make use of our newly purchased Merlin passes, and then planning a family BBQ for tomorrow. We've had a week of ups and downs - on Thursday I took Max to Boots for his Meningitis B jab, which we decided to pay for privately when it was announced that he would miss the age cutoff to get it done on the NHS. It went much more smoothly than I'd expected - he was so brave! But to compensate for that, ...

Welcome to the week number 7 of #SharingtheBlogLove! I run this linky with Laura from Dear Bear and Beany, and we were really pleased that so many of you guys joined us again last week- yet again, it was our best week ever for numbers! It's lovely to see our regular linkers coming back, and new people joining us too! It really feels like a little community is starting to build. I've been having a lovely week enjoying the sunshine - it almost felt like summer was over last week, but I'm loving seeing the sun back. We've been enjoying romping around lots of formal gardens, meeting up with friends, and then coming home for ice cream and water play in our garden! Laura and ...

Max will be 3 by then, so ...

My favourite Up and Coming Instagram Accounts

Before I started blogging, I didn't see the point in Instagram. I rarely shared photos to my facebook feed, so why would I be interested in sharing photos with people I didn't know on Instagram? But since an Instagram account is pretty much an essential part of a blogger's toolkit I signed up and it's rapidly become my favourite social media outlet and has fuelled a love of photography that I never knew I had. I love the positive vibe that Instagram has - it's just a lovely few minutes out of my day to scroll through my feed and see beautiful snapshots of people's lives. At first I was quite restrained in terms of interacting with people, and I would see ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran RHS Wisley have created the most spectacular sunflower amphitheatre - we've visited it a few times now and each time it's a little bit more in bloom. I love this shot of Max running through the flowers - that tongue out smile cracks me up!

Mayfield Lavender Farm - a sea of purple

For years now I've seen people's photos in fields of beautiful lavender and marvelled at how beautiful it all looked. I knew Mayfield Lavender Farm was near us, but I hadn't quite clocked just how close it was - only 30 minutes drive away! At £1 for an adult entry, I thought it would be a lovely way to spend a morning, so we headed there last Monday morning, arriving early with the intention of beating the crowds. We arrived just after opening at 9am and it was far less busy than I'd expected - it was perfectly possible to wander in and feel like you were the only people there. It was one of those days for us - I ...

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth – Kahlil Gibran We had a lovely trip to RHS Wisley last week - it was so sunny. Max always loves exploring this little section of the garden - a small pond surrounded by hostas. He looks like such a little explorer, trekking off ahead on his own!
