I’m a huge fan of Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, so when an email popped into my inbox last week announcing the launch of their new Limited Edition Pink Pepper and Mint version, I hopped right on over to order a bottle. I’m a long term user of Cleanse and Polish but I’m a sucker for their slightly fragranced editions and this one sounded right up my street – plus the hot pink packaging is always going to be a winner with me.
The pink pepper gives a slightly spicy scent, while the slight hint of mint adds an uplifting and refreshing note. One thing I really appreciate with the Liz Earle range is the subtlety of the fragrancing – it’s never overpowering, feels really natural, and never gives my skin any irritation. It’s the mint which is the stronger scent as you use the product, but it’s the deep rose smell of the pink pepper that lingers. The scent isn’t overly feminine but has a comforting warmth which is perfect as we head into winter.
Ingredients still include the standard Cleanse and Polish cocoa butter for softening the skin, as well as rosemary and chamomile to soothe.
I use Cleanse and Polish twice daily as part of the three step Cleanse, Tone and Moisturise programme, and the effect on my skin is just as good as the standard version (which I rate highly!). Use it combined with the muslin cloth and hot water to gently exfoliate and remove any dead skin cells, and it will leave you with a fabulous glowing complexion. I find that Cleanse and Polish is unique as a cleanser in that my skin feels moisturised after using it rather than tight and dry.
Like all of the Limited Editions, this 150ml bottle comes in a presentation cylinder with two gold edged muslin cloths, so would make a lovely Christmas present for a Liz Earle fan.
I think this has toppled my previous favourite, Sweet Orange and Mint, off it’s pedestal and it’s one that I hope I’ll be buying a few more tubes of before stock runs out (I’ve sadly been pipped to the post on a few of the previous limited editions and found they’ve all sold out).
The Liz Earle range is available direct from their website, Liz Earle stores (if you are lucky enough to have one near you), and from John Lewis and Boots stores online and nationwide.
