7 Reasons I Love Baby Wearing

With my first son, I found babywearing intimidating and uncomfortable. Despite him being a complete velcro baby who would almost certainly have loved the closeness, I just couldn't get on with it. The structured carriers I found uncomfortable, and I found the idea of a wrap or a ring sling far too complicated. I couldn't even tie a knot when I was in the Guides, how would I ever work out how to wrap my baby and stop him falling out? But second time around I was determined to try harder with baby wearing. I loved the concept of keeping your baby close, and the practicality of having your hands free. When you have a baby and an older child to ...

Introducing Daisy Belle Dreams

I'm a huge lover of toys that are a little bit different to the norm - toys that have a classic appeal but with a modern twist. Instagram is a great place to browse for inspiration, and that's where I first discovered Daisy Belle Dreams - an online boutique which stocks a beautiful range of toys, baby products, and gifts for stylish mums. I was thrilled to be chosen as a brand enthusiast recently so I wanted to introduce you all to Daisy Belle Dreams, their range of products, and let you get to know Julie, the lovely face behind the products.     I was first drawn to Daisy Belle Dreams as they stock Maileg, the Danish toy brand, whose signature bunnies ...

Summer Infant Slumber Buddy – Review

We have always been big fans of noise machines to aid sleep - both of our children haven't been the best sleepers, but we've never had problems in getting them off to sleep. They've both loved noises in their different ways - Max absolutely loved white noise, while Ben is more a fan of music, so I jumped at the chance to review the Hippo Slumber Buddy from Summer Infant - a lullaby playing nightlight in the form of the sweetest sleeping hippo you'll ever see!┬áRoutine is such a huge part of a smooth bedtime, and a few cues can really help to let your baby understand that it's bedtime now and soothe them to sleep.   The Hippo Slumber Buddy The Summer ...

Making it Through Cold Season When You Have A Baby In The House

If there's a down side to the beauty of autumn, it's the number of germs that start floating about, just waiting to pounce on some unsuspecting person. And when you have a baby in the house, the thought of a cold can strike fear into even the bravest of souls. Suddenly your nights, which might have just about become bearable, become a series of attempts to calm your baby's crying, unblock their nose, and just ease their suffering a bit. I was kindly sent a gift box by Snufflebabe containing lots of goodies - some of which we've used for years, and some which were new to me. We've been getting lots of use out of them as we've all been ...

How to Survive The Hell of Teething

Just when you thought you'd cracked the whole 'looking after a baby' thing, here comes teething to knock that new found confidence down a peg or two! As an adult, you forget how unbearable any kind of pain in your tooth is, until you watch your child go through it and suddenly it all seems horribly real. Sleepless nights, sore gums, ear pulling, dribbling, red cheeks, grumpiness, loose nappies - the list of teething symptoms is a long one! We're just entering what I call 'the two years of hell' with Ben, and I've put together a little list of all the things we've found to help us make it through ( mostly) unscathed.   Teething Granules Max didn't really grasp the concept ...

Piccolo & The One for One Campaign: Because No Child Should Go Hungry

With Ben rapidly approaching six months, weaning is on my mind, and one of my favourite baby food brands is Piccolo. They have a focus on big flavours and healthy ingredients, but I also love their approach to giving back. They already donate 10% of their profits to charity, and October sees the launch of their new campaign, One for One, which really steps up their charitable giving to the next level. The One for One campaign will see Piccolo donate at least 100,000 pouches to thousands of hungry under 5s and the premise is simple. For every pouch purchased in supermarkets, Piccolo will donate a pouch to the Trussell Trust, the UK's largest food bank, ensuring that the pouches reach ...

Fear-Free Feeds with the Milk Monster

If you've read my post on Life Lately from last week, you'll know that I'm really struggling with the tiredness at the moment. Although I'm mainly breastfeeding, the one thing that we regularly do to try to allow me to get a tiny bit more sleep, is for John to do the first night feed when Ben wakes up. But that first wake up can vary hugely - sometimes he'll wake as early as 9.30, but it can be as late as 1am. And because John prefers to take the milk up when we go to bed, rather than when Ben wakes, it can be difficult to remember whether you made it within the 'safe' time limit of 2 hours ...

Making the night feed less painful with the Meemoobaby Meelight

I love all the new products that have arrived on the market since Max was a baby, there are so many things that make life easier for life with a newborn. One of the things I was most excited about was the Meemoo Meelight night light, so when Cheeky Rascals sent me one to review I was really keen to test it out. When Max was little, I found the night feeds were hands down the hardest thing about becoming a parent. They continued for us until Max was about 7 months and it was relentless and exhausting. I used to try and keep lights fairly dim, but would have to use my bedside table lamp to get things started, and ...

Korbell Nappy Disposal Bin – Review

Whenever I read lists of 'baby things you don't need' I'm baffled by people that include a nappy bin in that category. For me, it's an absolute essential! There's no way I want to be trekking out to the outside bin with every nappy, and when you get a smelly one, that's not something I want lumped in the kitchen bin. Something that contains the smell until you can empty it is a must-have in my view, and a huge time saver. We had a different brand of nappy bin first time around, but when I was asked to review the Korbell Nappy Disposal Bin I leapt at the chance. Primarily because it comes in a range of pretty pastel colours ...

Multitasking Mama with the Cheeky Chompers MultiMuslin – Review

I swear since becoming a mum of two my handbag has tripled in size with all the different bits and bobs I need to cart around with us! So anything that multi-tasks and has more than one function is very welcome to me, and you don't get much more multi-functional than the MultiMuslin from Cheeky Chompers. We were sent one to test out, and it's fast become one of my essential changing bag items. It's a large sized muslin and comes in a range of cute prints - we chose the Silver Stars, but other designs include the turquoise Zebra Dreams, the Happy Hippo, or the pretty pink Rosy Days.   How can I use the Cheeky Chompers MultiMuslin?   A swaddle The large size of ...
