You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth

– Kahlil Gibran

The Living Arrows series is a photo project hosted by Donna at What the Redhead Said. It’s a weekly series where you share a photo which captures a moment in childhood. I love how it encourages me to capture those little moments and I love looking back and seeing all the changes in Max as he grows up over the year.

I can’t be the only one whose child’s highlight of the week is the bin lorry coming? Every Monday, Max knows to expect them and spends all morning waiting at the window for them to come. As soon as they pull up outside our house Max’s face just lights up and he shouts “bin lorry come!” They’re a funny lot of guys too - the driver is always really cheerful and always waves and smiles at Max, while the guys who collect the bins are suitably grumpy (I’m sure if I was lugging around big smelly bins I’d be pretty grumpy too!)

I love this one of Max waving at the driver - a bit shyer than normal for some reason.

That’s so sweet. You can tell he is really pleased to see them, but also a little taken back that they are waving back. x

Mine must be the only child who doesn’t like waiting for the bin men to arrive, although she loves a good sunrise or sunset haha, this photo is just adorable x #LivingArrows

Haha! I think if we didn’t have a hedge at the front of our house and the children were able to see the road then Troy would LOVE the bin lorry too. I love Max’s jumper, cannot beat a bit of nautical clothing! x
