There’s something about spring being in the air that makes me want to refresh my skincare routine - the sunshine, the sight of the flowers popping up, first the snowdrops and then the daffodils, all make me crave products which are lighter and refreshing. Origins’ GinZing and Original Skin ranges provide the perfect solution for me - I love their refreshing citrus scent, but they still have enough moisturising power to soothe my skin.
Knowing my love of the GinZing moisturiser, I bought this box set in the January sales - a complete bargain as it contained the Original Skin Renewal Serum, Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay, GinZing moisturiser, and GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser, all for £30!
These products have been wonderful to use during pregnancy. My skin has really suffered during pregnancy this time and my main complaint is that is just tends to look dull and grey. These ranges used in combination have done such a great job in refreshing my skin and bringing it back to life.
The best thing about this range in my view is the fragrance. I think so often we underestimate the impact that scent can have on our mood - I often think it’s one of the most powerful senses that we have. Just a subtle fragrance can conjure up memories of childhood or of holidays, or change your mood completely. GinZing is citrus based and therefore perfect for waking you up on those mornings when you feel like getting up and dressed is the last thing you want to do. The Original Skin serum seems to me to have the same uplifting scent as GinZing, while the mask has a beautiful and subtle rose scent. As a daily routine I like to use the GinZing Scrub Cleanser, followed by the Original Skin Serum, and finally the GinZing moisturiser. The three used in combination are so uplifting and really make up for a terrible night’s sleep.
Original Skin Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay
This is a 2-in-1 mask, aiming to deep clean and refresh the skin’s texture at the same time. Rose clay and willowherb aim to remove impurities and jojoba beads gently exfoliate. Often my skin can be irritated by exfoliators, but I find this one very gentle and it leaves my skin glowing. I like to use this as a weekly treat on a Sunday evening in the bath - bliss! The fragrance on this is lovely, with a very subtle rose scent to it.
GinZing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser
Packed with grapefruit, lemon, and spearmint fragrance, this is the perfect way to get you going for the day. Jojoba beads gently exfoliate and unclog pores, while Panax Ginseng and coffee beans work to brighten your complexion. Again, I found this gentle enough to use on my somewhat sensitive skin, and it doesn’t contain any foaming agents (which can often trigger an eczema flare up for me).
Original Skin Renewal Serum
I love an Origins Serum - I’ve always been loyal to A Perfect World in the past, but this one has won me over. Willowherb is the key ingredient and it’s job is to reduce dullness, leaving your skin glowing. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and works magic on reducing the size of my pores.
GinZing Energy Boosting Moisturiser
I’ve used GinZing for a few years now. It’s lovely and light, so doesn’t cut it for me during those winter months when my skin needs that extra TLC, but for spring and summer it’s perfect. It absorbs really quickly and really perks up my complexion. It contains coffee bean extract and Panax Ginseng, both of which aim to refresh the skin, leaving it glowing.
If dullness is your skin problem I really can’t recommend the Original Skin and GinZing ranges enough. They’ve perked up this tired mum’s 30-something skin no end and are getting me perfectly in the mood to embrace spring!
