Sharing the Blog Love - Showcase 25

A big welcome to our 25th week of #SharingtheBlogLove and our weekly Blogger Showcase! The last one of the year as we’ll be taking a short break over Christmas, returning on the 5th January.

If you’re new to #SharingtheBlogLove, these are mine and Laura’s favourite posts from last week’s linky. As part of the linky we’d like you to choose one post from each showcase post to head over and leave a comment to show them some extra blog love.

Little Paper Swans

For someone who is massively into Christmas, I do feel slightly guilty that for the last 4 years we’ve had an artificial tree. I always used to love going to choose our tree with my family, and it always signalled the start of Christmas when we brought it home. Plus, you just can’t beat that amazing smell, can you? I loved Cathryn’s post, Picking our Christmas Tree - I keep seeing people visiting Christmas tree farms, and I think there’s something so special about picking your own tree still in the ground.

Jaki Jellz

I’ve had a complicated relationship with makeup over the years. From my teens until my mid twenties I would never leave the house without a full face of makeup; it was my confidence booster, my security. And then in my mid-twenties I suffered from terrible eczema which meant I couldn’t wear any makeup. The feeling of not being able to cover the eczema up and give myself that extra boost of confidence was as hard as the eczema itself, and I really struggled. But it has given me a different attitude to makeup, and particularly since I’ve become a mum. I loved Jaki’s post, Are Mums Judged on their Appearance - a really thought provoking read with input from lots of bloggers about their own relationship with makeup.

Carolina Twin Mom

I love to watch my son learn and develop new skills, but at the same time there’s always that slight tension between being thrilled to see them growing up, and realising that they’re no longer the child they were, that you can never recapture all those tiny moments. I defy you not to have a little well up at this heartfelt post from Mary - it just captures the heart of that emotion perfectly.

Chocolate and Wine and I’ll be Fine

I’ve been doing an advent activity calendar this year and it’s been great fun! But it can be difficult to come up with ideas for 24 days (I cheat and just put chocolate in the ones where Max is at nursery, and I still find it hard!) I loved Sam’s post on the first week of her advent activities - a lovely mix of trips out, crafts and baking. Lots of cute ideas that I’m going to be stealing!

Did you catch any of these last week? If not, please head over and give them a read and a comment!

Having just fallen back in love with makeup again after falling out of love directly post-baby, I’m looking forward to reading the post on mums being judged by appearance. For me it’s definitely more about taking time for myself now than it was before - it’s almost a luxury! 😂x

Lol, I’m the same with avent activities. I did a post last year for ideas, but this year I’m short of about 6. Tbh, N doesn’t care anyway. He just wants the chocolate!
