Christmas Shopping at The Lexicon {Bracknell}

Permalink

The Lexicon is Bracknell’s newest shopping centre, having opened back in September, and it’s really put Bracknell on the map as a shopping destination. I grew up just down the road, but for a long time Bracknell was seen as pretty downmarket and I rarely headed there to go shopping, preferring to go to Reading instead. But with a beautiful outdoor pedestrianised shopping village, filled with fabulous brands like Joules, Fenwick, Fatface, Paperchase, M&S, L’occitane, and lots of places for eating and drinking, it’s become somewhere that has a real buzz about it.

I was invited by The Lexicon to a blogger event to find out about everything they have going on this Christmas - and they’re definitely embracing the Christmas festivities! The Christmas tree is up and the decorations twinkle above you as you make your way around, with 135 thousand lights lighting the way.

What’s On at The Lexicon this Christmas?

One of their loveliest ideas is their Christmas postbox. Anyone can post a card or letter in the box, nominating someone they feel deserves a treat. Once the postbox closes on 17th December at 5pm, The Lexicon will choose 5 Christmas wishes to make come true. What a lovely idea, and so full of the Christmas spirit! You can find the postbox outside Pandora and Ernest Jones.

There is the opportunity for children to get crafty in Christmas workshops to create their own Christmas wishes cards to post in the postbox, running on Sunday 3rd and 10th December, from 11am-4pm. These will take place on the High Street by GAME and are drop in sessions.

Children will be thrilled to know that on Tuesdays The Lexicon will be playing host to some of their favourite TV characters - Catboy, Owlette, and Gekko from PJ Masks will visit on Tuesday 5th December, Bing and Flip on Tuesday 12th December, and Ben and Holly on Tuesday 19th December. Between 2.30pm-7pm on each date you can drop in to visit them and have your photo taken.

If you have that one person who you always struggle to buy for, The Lexicon have created their own Gift Card - available from just £5, all the way up to £1000, and accepted by more than 70 shops and restaurants across The Lexicon, it’s a great present for anyone local. You can either buy online, or at The Lexicon Management Suite (on the lower ground floor of The Avenue Car Park).

I was given a Gift Voucher for The Lexicon to go and spend and I had a wonderful time browsing the shops (child free!) for a bit of Christmas shopping. It’s a lovely spot to wander, and I loved that I was able to find so many of my favourite brands - I browsed the Jo Malone counter in Fenwick, and was delighted to find a Charlotte Tilbury concession - a makeup addict’s dream.

I popped over to the Estee Lauder counter to buy a new foundation, and then made my way to M&S where I bought a few Christmas treats for the boys: a Paddington snow globe for Max, and the most adorable new clothes for Ben (which are ones I already have but in the next size up. Does anyone else just keep dressing their baby in the same clothes, even as they get bigger?)

If you have Christmas shopping to do, The Lexicon is the place to be!

Disclosure: I was invited by The Lexicon and given a gift voucher in exchange for this blog post. All words and opinions are my own.

    Oh wow, that looks like a lovely shopping centre. And just in time for Christmas! Their Christmas post box is a lovely idea. And handy that they do a gift card accepted in most of the stores. Ideal for those hard-to-buy-for members of the family!
