You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth
– Kahlil Gibran
2017 will be my first full year taking part in the Living Arrows series, hosted by Donna at What the Redhead Said. It’s a weekly series where you share a photo which captures a moment in childhood. I love how it encourages me to capture those little moments and I love looking back and seeing all the changes in Max as he grows up over the year.
We braved the cold last week for a trip to Alice Holt forest to hunt for some Gruffalo. They have a great little den building area, with lots of sticks for children to use to build little teepee dens. I just love this shot of Max, desperately trying to carry a huge log, despite his woolly hat having fallen down over his eyes. It just sums up the sheer determination he has when he puts his mind to something!

that’s lovely. I wish we had something like this in our area. We only discovered a nature trail at the weekend.

We love Alice Holt - we had a Christmas visit there last year and we love the Grufallo trail. That picture of Max is so cute - he looks so little with that log and his big hat over his eyes! Too cute! x

We loved doing the Gruffalo trail last year, so lovely for the little ones. I love that he carried on despite the hate covering his eyes - nothing was going to stop him! x

I can’t believe you did that when it was so cold! Brave mama you are! He looks so lovely as usual! Love looking at his pics! Did you find Gruffalo? #LivingArrows

We found the Gruffalo and his child too! And Stick Man! It really was cold - the first time I’ve ever seen Max wear gloves (that’s when you know it must be cold!)

Oh bless him! They always have to find the biggest stick (or log!) to try and carry don’t they? #LivingArrows

We loved the Stick Man one last year at Alice Holt but it’s not there this year. I’m hoping they’ll set up another one soon

That is such a big stick for such a little boy. My girl is determined as well and it’s so entertaining to watch #livingarrows
