Sharing the Blog Love - Showcase #69

A big welcome to our weekly #SharingtheBlogLove Showcase. I hope you enjoy our featured posts here and find some great new blogs to follow along the way.

If you’re new to #SharingtheBlogLove, these are mine and Laura’s favourite posts from last week’s linky. As part of the linky we’d like you to choose one post from each showcase post (one from mine and one from Laura’s) to head over to and leave a comment to show them some extra blog love. It’s always lovely to take a look at our featured posts this week and see how many extra comments they’ve had from you guys!

Bubbablue and Me

I’ve avoided the drama of parties so far in my parenting career, but they are definitely looming for us now - Max is already planning his next birthday party, and once he starts school they’ll be happening all the time. It’s so difficult to know all the etiquette around children’s parties, so I found this guide on How to RSVP really useful - you’d think it would be straightforward, but there are loads of ins and outs that I’d not considered!

Rice Cakes and Raisins

Sleep is not my friend right now (although I wish it was!). I’m very much missing having sleep in my life - it’s welcome back any time it would like to return! So The 5 Universal Truths of the Sleep Deprived spoke to me. From the seething jealousy towards your happily dozing partner, to the fact that your bladder seems to have some kind of a vendetta against you, I was nodding along to all of these.

Organised Jo

I’ve always found editing photos a bit intimidating, so I was interesting to read Jo’s experience with Snapseed. I’ve been using VSCO to edit my photos for Instagram for a while now, but I don’t really explore much beyond brightening them up a bit, so I loved reading about all the little things you can do to bring your photos to life a bit more. I find editing to be as much of an art as composition, and it’s amazing the different feel an edit can bring to a photo without making it feel overdone.

Just Measuring Up

Are you ready for Advent yet? We have 5 different advent calendars in our house ready to go - two chocolate ones for Max, one cardboard one for Max, a chocolate one for me and my husband, and an activity one that I set up for us as a family. I loved this DIY for a felt advent calendar - it has such a homemade charm, and the little touches of the buttons and ribbon are so cute. I’m a sucker for anything felt, so I’m seriously considering making this for next year!

Did you catch any of these last time? If not, please head over and give them a read and a comment!
