I don’t know about you, but there’s one food that my fussy eating 3 year old loves, and that’s snacks. It doesn’t seem to matter what it is - call it a snack, and he’s won round! So when the lovely folk at Heavenly Tasty Organics got in touch to see if we’d like to try out their range, I was pretty quick to say yes. The range was developed by mum Shauna McCarney-Blair, with the aim to create healthy snack options for young children and babies. The range is entirely free from artificial colours of flavours, and has no added sugar or salt. It’s also perfect for little ones who have food allergies, as they’re all gluten free and suitable for vegans, which means no milk, so perfect for babies like my little Ben, who has problems with cows milk.
The range includes Wafer Wisps, Halo Bites, Corn Puffs, Italian Breadsticks, Mini Biscuits, Veggie Waffles, and Coconut Squishies, so whatever takes your snacking fancy, there will be an option that works for you. The Coconut Squishies are a real find for me - just coconut milk, pureed fruit and a dash of lemon juice. it’s so difficult to find non-dairy yoghurt-type desserts in individual portions which aren’t very expensive. These come in a little pouch, so they can be spooned out, or your child can just suck it out themselves for minimum mess. Ben absolutely loves them!
The heart shaped Corn Puffs were a hit with Max, and they come in the savoury Sweet Potato and Carrot, or the sweet Strawberry and Apple. They were the perfect snack for a mid walk bribe!
So many of this range were suitable for both Max and Ben, and that’s really appealing both to me as a Mum, as I have to buy fewer products, and to the boys, particularly Ben, who loves to be eating the same thing as his brother. The wafer products and coconut squishies are all intended to be suitable from 6 months, while lots of the other products state from 12 months. Ben is 10 months, and is getting pretty adept at feeding himself and I’ve been able to give him the entire range without any problems.
Heavenly Tasty Organics can be found in Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons.
