My Monthly Beauty Buys - June

It’s taken a while for the nice weather to arrive, but now that we’ve seen some sun I’ve found myself wanting to refresh my makeup look for the summer. I’ve been drawn to a lighter look, paler shades, and I’ve bought a few items last month that I’m really enjoying using.

Essie Nail Polishes in Mint Candy Apple and Lilacism

There’s something about the summer that always makes me crave pretty pastel colours to put on my nails. I was instantly drawn to the prettiness of these two Essie shades in lilac and pale green and they make a lovely addition to my collection. Essie are my favourite nail polish brand - the colours almost always apply true to the shade in the bottle, and they last well on me.

Benefit Rollerlash

I’ve moved away from the heavy eyeliner look that was my signature a few years ago. I never used to be a mascara girl, but without eyeliner my eyelashes need a bit of help to get that oomph. My lashes are long and black, so colour isn’t an issue, but I’ve long been on a quest to find the perfect mascara to hold a curl. After doing lots of research, I’ve slowly been working my way through recommendations and Benefit’s RollerLash was my latest try. It promises that you’ll be able to ditch the eyelash curlers which is quite a bold statement! While I wouldn’t say that I’m going to be abandoning my trusted curlers, I do like the precise applicator, and it does seem to hold a curl reasonably well.

Ballet Slipper Eyeshadow Quad - Rosie by Autograph

I’ve been eyeing up the eyeshadow quads from Rosie by Autograph since the range launched a few months ago. I treated myself to Ballet Slipper - a pretty selection of nude shades. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to use eyeshadow due to my eyelid eczema, so it’s lovely that it’s cleared up enough for me to wear it again! I really like these. The cream has a touch too much sparkle for my personal preference, but the other 3 shades are spot on and so wearable for everyday.

Have you tried any of these? If you know the perfect curl holding mascara, do let me know!

It’s gorgeous, isn’t it? I’d buy it just for the packaging - the fact that I like the eyeshadow is a bonus! 🙂

They’re really pretty, aren’t they? I also like how they look on my dresser lined up next to each other (spot the person with no life over here!!)

I use the benefit mascara and love it. I like the look of the ballet slipper eyeshadows, these are just the kind of colours I like to wear. Lets hope we get some sunny days x

They’re lovely colours - nice and easy to blend subtly. I think this mascara is the best I’ve tried, but still not over the moon with the ‘holding a curl’ issue. I may have to just accept that I have straight eyelashes!

Ahhh, love the idea of the rollerlash - I haven’t seen that yet and I’m a bit of a Benefit addict! I too have long dark lashes (v lucky) but sometimes my mascara looks a bit thick. Will check this out thank you! Charlie x #sharingthebloglove

Oh, I think it would be right up your street then Charlie - the applicator is so precise and it’s not thick at all. Apparently it’s their most popular mascara - I’d never seen it until recently!

They are nice pastel summer colours. I really should change my make up to suit the seasons, I think I should experiment a it more. I am not blessed with long eyelashes,so I use my eyelash curler every day. I would love to hear of this magic mascara too.

I’m terrible at getting into a rut with my makeup, but I do like to switch up eyeshadows and nail varnishes - the more ‘colour’ items! If you ever find the magic mascara do come back and let me know!

I love beauty products! I have tried so many mascaras lately but my ultimate favourite is always Grandiôse Extrême from Lancome . It does the job properly. And it looks like I have long eyelashes too. And also my favourite nail polish at the moment are Barry M Quick dry. You need to try them. They have all these colours and the dry in 5 minutes. It is just amazing. So I can literally paint my nails 10 minutes before I leave the house. How great is that? Thanks for sharing this at #KCACOLS lovely, 🙂 xx
