Introducing Frugi SS19: A Summer of Scillyness

Permalink

I often find that children's clothing, and boys' clothing in particular, can be rather dull. It's always a ray of sunshine to find a brand that use colour and print really well, and Frugi get it spot on. Their colourful clothes are distinctive and can't fail to put a smile on your face when you see them. I was invited to have a sneak preview of the Frugi Spring Summer '19 collection and it didn't fail to disappoint. Inspired by the Scilly Isles, it's full of cute animal designs, gorgeous colours, and childrens' clothes that are perfect for play. I had the opportunity to talk with the people at Frugi who design their clothes, and it was amazing to learn how ...

Getting Ready For School With The Disney Store | AD

Permalink

I still can't quite believe that Max will be starting school in September, but it's rapidly approaching and I'm having to pull my head out from the sand and get everything ready. School uniform, name labels, settling in sessions. But there are so many other little things that I'd not even thought about, like lunchboxes, backpacks, and stationery. When the Disney Store got in touch to introduce us to their Back to School range, I knew Max would love their Mickey Mouse products - he's a huge fan of 'Vicky' Mouse, as he calls him!     Packing your school bag is a huge step towards starting school, and it was great to have the draw of one of Max's favourite characters to ...

Planning A Summer Capsule Wardrobe | AD

Permalink

I've always loved the idea of a capsule wardrobe - they look stylish and so well put together. But I've tried in the past and failed miserably to achieve it, as I often find sticking to a colour palette boring and yearn to inject bold colours or prints into the mix. So when The Lexicon shopping centre in Bracknell invited me to their summer blogger event I leapt at the chance to join them and get some tips for putting together a capsule wardrobe for summer. Summer is the perfect time to try out a capsule wardrobe. Packing for a summer holiday has never been trickier for me; with our suitcases now filled with the endless paraphernalia that comes with kids, ...

Rediscovering ‘Me’ Post Baby and Being Braver

Permalink

I remember one of the things I wanted to achieve 2 years ago was to be more present in photos, both on the blog and off it. I think I did really well through pregnancy, but since having Ben nearly a year ago now, I've definitely fallen back into obscurity. I looked back over my Instagram feed the other day and realised there were barely any photos of me, just of the boys. That first year after you have a baby is such a difficult one for a woman and I think my confidence really took a knock. It's understandable - your body emerges from pregnancy looking so different than it did before. Even aside from the body hangups, you're left ...

We’re Going On A Dinosaur Hunt {with JoJo Maman Bébé}

Permalink

I've found it so difficult to carve out time for just me and Max since Ben came along. I often feel like Ben gets me to himself 2 days a week, while Max is at nursery, but for Max, it's rare for the two of us to get time alone together. So last weekend the two of us headed out into the woods for a little walk, and we took with us Max's Olli and Ella basket filled with little toy dinosaurs.     We headed into the woods, his little hand grasping mine tightly, as we negotiated the sticky, oozy mud (and there was lots of it!). I tasked Max with choosing the perfect spot - a bit off the beaten track, ...

Hop Little Bunny! Baby Fashion With The Disney Store

Permalink

It's coming up to Easter and my thoughts are filled with all things eggs, daffodils and bunnies. And when you have a cute little baby, the temptation to dress them up whenever you get the opportunity is just too good to miss! We're huge Disney fans in our house; I often think that Disney was the foundation to my childhood, and it's so lovely to be reliving it all again as my sons discover it for the first time. I was so thrilled when the Disney Store got in touch to see if we'd like to test out some of their baby range with Ben. But I was even more excited when I saw what they'd sent us through - a ...

Christmas Shopping at The Lexicon {Bracknell}

Permalink

The Lexicon is Bracknell's newest shopping centre, having opened back in September, and it's really put Bracknell on the map as a shopping destination. I grew up just down the road, but for a long time Bracknell was seen as pretty downmarket and I rarely headed there to go shopping, preferring to go to Reading instead. But with a beautiful outdoor pedestrianised shopping village, filled with fabulous brands like Joules, Fenwick, Fatface, Paperchase, M&S, L'occitane, and lots of places for eating and drinking, it's become somewhere that has a real buzz about it.       I was invited by The Lexicon to a blogger event to find out about everything they have going on this Christmas - and they're definitely embracing the Christmas ...

The Perfect Nursing Bra from Bravado Designs - Review

Permalink

I'm ashamed to admit that first time around, I had no idea that you weren't supposed to wear normal bras during pregnancy, or that such a thing as a nursing bra existed. I had to send my husband out, two days post birth, to hurriedly purchase a nursing bra! This time around I'm a bit better informed. Nursing bras are recommended as the underwire in normal bras can restrict the developing milk ducts, and once you're nursing, can cause blocked ducts and mastitis. As well as the convenience of having the little clips to detach the strap for feeding - the last thing you want to be doing when feeding in public / the middle of the night is struggling ...

A sneak peek at the JoJo Maman Bebe AW17 range

Permalink

JoJo Maman Bebe have to be one of my favourite children's clothing brands, so I was thrilled to have the opportunity to have a sneak peek at their Autumn / Winter 2017 range this week. They're known for their bright, fun, colourful prints, which are right up my street, and they've definitely continued this theme with their AW17 collection. The first thing to really catch my eye was the amount of fox themed clothing - if you're a fan of a fox print (and I know I'm not alone in my love of foxes) then you definitely won't be disappointed. Whether you have a baby or a toddler, there are lots of different fox options for you - a fox sleepsuit ...

Maternity Shopping with JoJo Maman Bebe in Kingston

Permalink

JoJo Maman Bebe is one of my favourite children's / maternity shops, so when I was invited to their Kingston store for a VIP maternity shopping event I leapt at the opportunity. I have to admit that although Kingston is my closest JoJo store, it's not one that I've been to often before, more often visiting the Guildford store. The biggest selling point of JoJo Maman Bebe in Kingston has to be their extensive Maternity department. One of the most frustrating things when shopping as a pregnant woman is the lack of maternity clothes in stores. So often you're forced to buy online, and not knowing the stores specific maternity sizing, combined with an unfamiliar new body, results in lots of ...
